I am planning on getting a lip piercing but i don’t want the hole to be permanent if i decide to take it out. Also, for about how long would my lip hurt if i got the piercing done?
My lip hurt for about an hour or two after I got it pierced. However, it was sore and swollen for two weeks.
The hole would not be permanent. When I took my lip ring out for a few hours, it already started closing up and I had to push a labret back in. There was blood and pain and it did become swollen for a few days after that.
Depending on how long you’ve had the piercing, you might get a scar. My friend had her lip pierced for two days and took it out and there was no scar. However, my cousin had her lip pierced for a year and took it out. You couldn’t tell she had her lip pierced until she smiled, because it left a tiny dimple-like hole. The hole would close up but there might be a scar left. Some people are left with nothing, a tiny hole, or their skin might grow over the hole and leave a pimple-like bump. It just depends on the person or how long you’ve had it in.
